Rawhide 'n Roses Author Carol Spradling

As a youth, Carol Spradling loved reading the Trixie Belden books. Trixie was smart, witty, and surrounded by good-looking guys. In comparison, the romances her friends were reading were frustrating.

"Why did it take 380 pages for the couple to admit they loved each other?"

Determined to find authors who felt as she did, Carol finally discovered Kathleen Woodiwiss and Diana Gabaldon. They became her standards for historical romance writing.

What inspired your short story in Rawhide 'n Roses?

I love simple stories with characters that discover their feelings for each other at the same pace as the reader, and where better to do that than on the Santa Fe Trail. A long wagon train ride west, intriguing characters, and a secret past make for an exciting time.

The road to becoming a published author is rarely smooth, what were some of your most noteworthy bumps or potholes?

I had the hardest time finding a fan base. With so many people interested in vampire stories, it's hard to convince readers that romance books extend past this genre.

The Highwayman's Grace is the third book in The Forever Time Travel Romance Series. I've always loved time travel books and highwayman stories. What better combination can there be? Ethan is hiding a secret that could ruin his family, not to mention, cost him his life. And Grace is hiding a family secret that she doesn't understand. While Ethan and Grace come to terms with their own secrets, they find their attraction to each other too much to withstand. Little do they know, their lives are more connected than their initial meeting and forced marriage would lead them to believe.
